We are always delighted to welcome visitors to Domaine Chater. We open every day of the week for free vineyard tours and tastings of a range of our award winning wines.

A vineyard and winery tour of Domaine Chater is an essential part of your visit to the Duras area in South West France and is guaranteed to make your stay even more memorable. We start by giving you a guided tour of our organically managed vines where you'll learn the techniques we use to get the best possible quality grapes - a vital step in the process of making Chater fine wines. You'll then be treated to a visit to our state-of-the-art winery for an explanation of the wine making process and an insight into the secrets of making prize winning Duras wines. Vineyard and winery tours are in English and are completely interactive with a chance to ask about every step of the process. This is all rounded off with a free wine tasting of several Chater wines and an opportunity to buy some to take away with you. If you're on holiday in South West France be sure to drop in!

Directions from Duras

We are about ten minutes, by car, from Duras. Follow the main road out of Duras towards Sainte Foy. Pass the gendarmerie on the right. Turn right shortly afterwards into the road that is signed St Jean de Duras (the turn is directly opposite the Gamme Vert store). Follow this road (for approximately two miles) and at the first crossroads make a left-hand turn. You should immediately pass a water tower on your left hand side. Take the first right hand turn and Domaine Chater is the third property on the right.

Getting Here

Rail services from Paris run to Bordeaux and Liborne from where a local train service runs to the nearby town of St Foy la Grande. Bergerac is the closest airport with flights from Birmingham, Stansted, East Midlands, Southampton, Liverpool and Manchester. Flights into Bordeaux airport are readily available from airports across the UK.
